I pay the bills!
In all the years that I've been waiting to have my driver's license so that I can drive myself places without having to worry about getting rides from my parents, it's hard to believe that I get my driver's license in almost a month. Years ago I thought the wait would be forever until the day I got my license got here but in all reality it feels like time has went by in the blink of an eye. Now I am taking on some bills I have to pay and it makes me feel more like an adult. I'm starting to understand how stressful paying bills can be sometimes, and to think that my parents and other adults pay so much more money on several other bills that they have, knowing that I someday will have to deal with all that too.

Dream On
Well now it seems like I have two more blogs to go. Oh well that just means I won't have to do any for the month of December. Anyways I'm going to make a tribute to Nathan and Connor on this one and talk about my dream car. It's not the manly Burgundy color of Nathan's car which happens to slightly resemble purple. Nathan just read that and slammed his fist on the desk in anger and threatened to comment on my post but just don't listen to him. Instead my dream car is a 1999 Silver Chevy Malibu. Expensive to say the least but I really like it and it drives like no other car. Tinted windows and sporty looking with not too many miles and it gets good gas, so I like it.

Numero Uno
The last blog! To think that I got almost all of them done in one class period and they're not half bad. I mean what can I say, I'm a beast! Speaking of beast, that reminds me of a song in one of those old guitar hero games. I kind of miss playing those, that's been forever ago. I've been spending more time putting all my music onto my new Ipod and getting the album artwork for the music more than anything. I'm just obsessed with music like that you could say. I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. Maybe the fact that my two favortie days in the year are right beside each other on the calender is pretty cool right? Everyone is just in such a good mood on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Parents are happy because they got their kids the right gifts and they kids are happy because they got what they wanted. Nothing brings the families together like Christmas.
Two more!
Two more blogs to go. It doesn't get any better than this. Sometimes procrastination isn't as bad as they make it out to be, as long as you have enough motivation to get the assignment done. Anyways, I think that this nine weeks has been easier than the first nine weeks was. Call me crazy, but maybe it's just because I've learned how to manage work and school better now. Or maybe because my hours have been cut at work. Probably both I would say. Summer just needs to hurry up and get here. Making over 200 bucks a week and not having to deal with all the stress and time consumption that comes with school and homework and grades would be really nice. Plus, the fact that next year will be Senior year is exciting. We will be above all!
Bad Times
Have you ever done something that you shouldn't have and didn't get caught, but you did something different a few days later that you shouldn't have and got caught? Why is it that we get punished for certain things we do, but other things we don't get punished for? My last post got me thinking about these couple of questions and why things happen like this. Maybe some things we're supposed to learn our lesson for and other things we just get away with for the time being. Maybe we just get that one chance when we don't get caught to learn our lesson. The easy way and the hard way to do things.
Good Times
While sitting in study hall thinking of ideas for blogs, an old quote popped into my head. Everyone has heard the phrase "bad things happen to good people." If this phrase is believed to be true, then does that mean good things happen to bad people? I'm not saying that I believe that good things happen to bad people or vice versa, but it does bring up a good point. The point being what really is good or bad in society today? You see or hear about 12 year old kids doing drugs and some things that they probably shouldn't be doing. If everyone is doing it, is it considered bad? If nobody is doing it, is it considered bad? What do we really consider moral or immoral these days with everything that is going on around us that we may or may not be taking part in?
Give Me a Break
Five blogs have to be done in two days. Breaks can do that to you, mess with you and make you forget about the work that needs to be done. You use the break to rest up and the monday you come back to school you are more tired than before the break started. Now it looks like everyone is anticipating Christmas Break. Two more weeks of school then a week of finals and then two full weeks off from school along with Christmas and New Year's. I mean who wouldn't look forward to it? The fact that we get A exemptions for this semester's finals makes it even better, despite some of the rumors that have been told around the school lately that we weren't going to get any exemptions. That would just be crazy, but like usual the rumors proved to be that- just rumors.

Flex Fridays and ERFs
I think that Flex Fridays and Early Release Fridays are one of the best new ideas to hit this school. Not only do they help those who are struggling with their grades to help improve them, they reward those who make good grades. Even though I'm in honors classes, I know what it's like to struggle with grades. I've gone to Enrichments for certain classes and they've helped me to understand the content and improve my grades.
We just had an Early Release Friday and that was really nice as well. Having one ERF every month along with each Friday being a Flex Friday gives the students something to look forward to at the end of every week. Even though we're switching to a Trimester schedule next year, I definitely think Flex Fridays should stay.

With a Little Help From My Friends
One of the most important factors in your teenage years is who your friends are, I've found that to be true. Often times we are around our friends more than our family and those friends we're around influence who we are, because we look up to them. Hangout with good influences and you're bound to make good decisions. Hangout with bad influences, and the decisions are almost the opposite.
No matter whether they are good or bad, your friends help make you happy for the time being. New friends will come and go and some old friends will come to stay. The friends that come to stay prove to influence your life in ways that you could never have imagined. I appreciate all the friends I've made over the years and they've helped changed who I am. Whether for better or for worse, I can't be the judge of that.

Assemblies
Sitting in study hall waiting for the pep rally, I realize how much little things like assemblies can brighten your school day. I didn't even know we had a pep rally today until one of my friends told me when I got to school. Automatically, I was in a better mood. The classes are shorter, the teachers that are boring talk less, and everyone is just more energized than they are on your regular day. Even if it's only thirty minutes or so long, I'll take that anyday.
The assemblies usually end up going pretty good and everyone has fun, although sometimes it can be kind of hard to hear what's going on. You pick who you sit by and you rush right out so you're not stuck in the 700s hallway for ten minutes. Still, you gotta love those assemblies.

Baby You Can Drive My Car
One of the most exciting things to happen to a teenager is getting their first car. I'm about to get my first car in less than a week and even though I don't have my license yet, I'm already excited. In just a few short months, I won't have to sit around dissapointed that all my friends have their license and can drive already. I will be one of the majority you could say.
The freedom that comes along with having a car is even more exciting. No longer will I have to hear those endless complaints from my parents from having to give me rides everywhere. Oh, and did I mention never having to ride the bus again is pretty awesome too. I could leave 30 minutes later in the morning and get home 30 minutes earlier, and then drive myself to work and everywhere else.
Freedom here I come.

Everybody's Working for the Weekend
The older I get, the more I start to realize how busy life gets. School, homework, more homework, thirty hours of work a week, church, a girlfriend, friends, and sleeping take up just about every second of my life. I'm not complaining about life being busy, I would actually rather life be busy than totally boring. Life seems to move by faster when you are busy. When life moves by too fast however, that's when the problem comes. You don't take the time to look around at everything around you, and it passes by in the blink of an eye and you're left wondering "Where did everything go?"
Some things come to stay however, and you really learn to appreciate the people and things in your life as time goes on. Those are the people and things that make the biggest impact in your life.

Music Makes the World Go 'Round
Music has always been one of the most important parts of my life. I've been obsessed with listening to music since I was a toddler and haven't gone one day without music since. I think it's pretty incredible how a few people just wanting to have some fun and make a few bucks can come together and produce such a harmony of sounds that flow together and touch millions of peoples' lives. I've always wanted to be able to re-create those sounds because I thought it would be the best thing since sliced bread.
Ever since I picked up my first guitar three years ago, I haven't looked back and I play every chance I get. I've taught myself every technique and solo I know and have never even taken a lesson. Since then, I've played for people, become really knowledgeable about music, and I love it. I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Everything Happens for a Reason
Oh, not this phrase again. We have all heard it throughout our life from parents, friends, loved ones, whoever it may be during times of hardship. There is always that one person to tell you, "Everything happens for a reason." Do we truly believe it? Maybe we don't when we are frustrated or irritated over some matter. Maybe we do when we reflect on the situation a few days later. Does everything happen for a good reason, or a bad reason? It doesn't seem fair, why did it happen? Everyone has had these questions run through their thoughts, but there's only one person who can decide: and that's you.
In the Blink of an Eye
There's an expression many use when something happens unexpectedly quick. People will say "that happened in the blink of an eye." Lately, I have become too familiar of the feeling that everything happens in the blink of an eye. Sometimes, you have to stop and take a look around at what you have while you have it and fully appreciate it. Nothing really lasts forever, whether we like it or not. We learn to deal with the bad circumstances that happen, and enjoy the good ones that cross our path. I've learned again that you can't prevent the bad circumstances from happening, no matter how much you want to. You can make the best out of the situation at hand and that's all you can really do. The rest is up to fate.

Something About Nothing
While sitting around thinking about a topic to write about, it never really occurred to me that I could write a blog without a topic. I mean, it can just be completely random like this just improvising as you go along. Many performers and writers have made success possible from improvisation. Song writers sometimes make millions on a song with improvised guitar riffs and lyrics. Comedians pick a topic to start off a show to thousands of fans with and improvise a good amount of their material.
Sometimes, spur of the moment ideas are more successful than planned ones. With a great mind and imagination, the possibilities are endless.

The New Drug
It's the newest craze all the teenagers are addicted to. Whether you're a straight A student or F's all the way, you've done it more than once. It rarely helps, but when it does you feel determined to try the drug again. What's the addiction? We all know it as procrastination.
Procrastination is your best friend when that important essay is assigned on Friday. That is, until Tuesday rolls around and you've been stabbed in the back. Even after a bad grade on that essay, you feel determined to procrastinate again. Maybe in the same class, maybe a different one. Three bad assignments, one infinite campus check, and a day before Flex Friday later, you decide you're through with procrastination for good...
...Or maybe until next week. Oh procrastination, you're my worst enemy.

Insiders
Ah, those good ole inside jokes. A classic part of daily conversation. Not a day goes by when I don't get involved in a new one. From the hilarious routines of hanging out at Brian's house and his mom's strict rules, a story that gets funnier everytime, to the electric cricket family reunions in english class. From the oh oh my god song to the "spiderwebs" in Pre Calculus. How I could continue to go on about insiders, but only a few would get the jokes.
Insiders are also a great excuse to get out of telling a story. Someone asks you what's so funny, and you tell them it's an insider so they won't think you're talking about them. Or you're just too lazy to tell the story. Whichever one it is, it's the ultimate way to get out of telling those funny stories and they never get old.

Tales of Grayson and Nathaniel
Oh Grayson and Nathaniel. A match made in heaven. Like Romeo and Juliet but with everyone wondering who's Romeo and who's Juliet? Well, you two can decide. So close but yet an arm's length apart in that classroom where Walt Disney is king and the electric cricket will sing. Tribute blogs so heartfelt and some horrendous with such painful ramblings that I dare not repeat them myself, for the safety of my earlobes.
How all are aware of the things you two say and do when none of the teachers are looking. Or they can look, it doesn't really matter, because you don't care. It's all one big virus, and you've got people joining in. Spreading like an epidemic, soon to overtake our entire group of friends.
I've said enough for now- I've told you everything I know. Papa Whitsett's coming to get me- I think that I should go.
